Food, Furniture & Household Items

The Homeland Heroes Foundation is based out of Salem, NH and does incredible work helping Veterans who are acclimating to civilian life after active duty and helping their families to get back on their feet. Some of the amazing things the organization does is to provide furniture, new mattresses and box springs, gas and food cards, and housing support for Veterans among many other things. The foundation also seeks to make connections with Veterans and local establishments to assist with networking and employment resources. They provide ongoing support and aid for veterans and their families as trials come and go.

There are many Veterans receiving no VA benefits at all through no fault of their own. With this said, Vouchers for Veterans wants every Veteran to know, that the County in which they reside in NH, acknowledges their sacrifices and thanks them for their service. Albeit a small token of appreciation in comparison for what they have done for us, Vouchers for Veterans thanks each Veteran for their service by giving them $20.00 in vouchers, each week, in September, for making fresh and nutritious purchases at a designated Farmers Market within their county. Vouchers for Veterans is currently serving three of the 10 New Hampshire Counties and York County Maine.

Besides the fresh and nutritious foods being offered by local farmers and growers, the clean and healthy atmosphere of a local farmers market tends to be the perfect location to gather Veterans together. They are proudly wearing hats identifying their branch and era. We often see two old Veterans sitting at a table with similar hats. You can tell by their expressions and tears in their eyes, they are telling their story, sometimes for the first time.

Operation Care For Troops began as a family and friends effort to provide needed but not easy to obtain items to the founders’ family members serving in Afghanistan and in Iraq. Soon, the fellow soldiers were requesting items and the grass root effort of the family, friends and local community volunteers were sending care packages to fulfill these requests. Word spread and care packages were being sent all over the world to our deployed service men and women in harms way.

Twenty years later “Operation Care For Troops” continues to supply deployed soldiers worldwide with a little bit of home making their job and deployment a little easier.

“Operation Care For Troops” has evolved and expanded its mission to include helping those who have returned home. OCT works with the NH VASH program by supplying Holiday stockings for the children of service families in transition and displaced veterans. OCT supplies Holiday Stockings for local veteran homes and homeless veteran programs in Greater Manchester and Greater Nashua.

Project New Hope, Inc. has supported Veterans and their Families for twelve years. Sully’s food and baby pantries provide basic needs, retreats provide healing opportunities, and the assistance program helps to “connect the dots” for those struggling to navigate current government systems. We partner with a wide range of military and government programs, with one goal, to support the Veterans where the other programs falter. Veterans deserve our nation’s gratitude, and, more importantly, a place to rebuild with honor.

Project New Hope was founded in 2010 and established in January 2011 by a disabled Air Force Veteran, William H. (Bill) Moore M.A. Our vision is one of hope for every Service Member, Veteran, as well as their spouse and or significant other who has felt the impact of military service. Our network of support allows us the ability to identify and align the appropriate support by wrapping services and resources around the entire family. We welcome Service Members and Veterans of all eras from across the United States.

V2VG Mission

Dedicated to the highest level of charitable aid to veterans, first responders, and their direct families by providing aid, resource assistance, and respite events with the integrity and pride our heroes deserve.

A Short History

Originally meant to serve veterans of the armed forces, our bylaws were quickly changed to also serve first responders, caregivers of disabled veterans/first responders, and qualifying family members of veterans/first responders. The scope of aid has evolved as well, from assistance with research and paperwork submission to tangible financial aid, which includes assistance with past due utilities and rent, emergency food and fuel (home or vehicle), clothing and personal hygiene items, and more. We are staffed 100% by volunteers, so all donations go directly to the people we serve.

What sets us apart from other agencies is our ability to move very quickly in verifying eligibility and need, and then having our Board of Directors vote on providing assistance. This is due to our eight Board members staying in close communication and not being burdened by unnecessary red tape that other organizations face. We like to think of ourselves as a “tactical charity.”

Our motto is “Family Through Service,” which we live by keeping what we do personal. We never view the veterans, first responders, and their family as case numbers, but as real people who we are honored to help.
